Literature Text

Down to the river to pray I rode.
Down where the birds did sing their songs.
And the deer drank from the water of life.
Down to the river to pray I rode.
Down into the river I dived.

Up to the heavens I rose.
Up where the dove returned home.
And the deer drank water of wine.
Up to the heavens I rose.
Up through the gates I swam.

Down at the river they cried that night.
Down where bluebells did bloom.
And the deer drank tears of pain.
Down at the river they cried that night.
Down into sorrow they fell.

"Join me with them once again."
I pleaded and sang with the deer and dove.
The dove said "No."
The deer said nought.
And I fell into great despair.

Up through the river I found me rise.
Up where the faces revealed their tears.
And the deer nodded their heads to life.
Up through the river I found me rise.
Up to the faces of shock and awe.
This is actually partly a song. I have a tune for it but I would never be able to make it a reality.
